The book Democracy Rupture, Channel Capture Beneath and Beyond the Borders by Professor P. Kharel was launched on Monday at a ceremony held at Tribhuvan University. The event saw the joint unveiling of the 295-page book by Tribhuvan University’s Rector Prof. Dr. Khadga K.C., Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Dr. Kundan Aryal, author Prof. Kharel, Dr. Tank Upreti, Dr. Shriram Poudel, and other esteemed guests.
In his address, Rector Prof. Dr. K.C. praised Professor Kharel for his literary contributions and dedication, calling him an inspiration to others. He emphasized that the book would provide valuable insights into discipline for both study and teaching, benefiting both students and educators.
Author Prof. P. Kharel shared that his life has been dedicated to study and writing. He explained his passion for regularly publishing articles, works, and books as a way of sharing his ideas, alongside his love for reading. He expressed hope that the book would contribute to readers’ thought formation and academic growth, even if in a small way.
Dr. Aryal, in his speech, acknowledged the guidance the department has received from Professor Kharel over the years. He expressed confidence that the book would serve as an inspiration to its readers.
The event was attended by Dr. Devaraj Aryal, Dr. Rishikesh Dahal, and students from the department.
The book, consisting of eight chapters, is published by Mandap Publication House.
