The International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) has formed its Europe Chapter Committee. The 15-member committee is coordinated by INLS Central Vice President Dilli Ammai, with Pancham Adhikari (Belgium) as Co-Coordinator and N.B. Anjan (Portugal) as Member-Secretary.
Senior Vice President of INLS, Lal Gopal Suvedi, announced the formation of the committee, stating that it aims to establish a harmonious relationship between the central body and regional chapters while promoting the Nepali language and literature within the European diaspora.
The committee members include Saurabh Karanjit (Belgium), Raj Shrestha (UK), Purna Basnet (Denmark), Susan Bardewa (Poland), Sujata Ghimire Raut (Germany), Omar Gurung (Spain), Maya Gurung (UK), Savi Shrestha (Portugal), Bishnu Maya Vibhu (Norway), Suryaraj Giri (Netherlands), Laxman Devkota (Switzerland), and Prashant Upreti (France). Additionally, the newly appointed presidents of the national branches will serve as ex-officio members of the committee.
The advisory panel includes Harihar Aryal (France), Dr. Rupak Shrestha (UK), Brahma Wagley (Belgium), Khadga Neupane (Germany), and Sita Baral (Denmark). This initiative aligns with ANEAS’s broader goal of establishing regional committees across all five continents.
Newly appointed Coordinator Ammaai emphasized the committee’s commitment to running a literary campaign in preparation for the upcoming INLS International Conference in Belgium. Co-Coordinator Adhikari highlighted the need for expanding ANEAS chapters in European countries where they are either absent or inactive.
Last year, the INLS Portugal chapter successfully organized an International Literary Conference from March 8 to 10. This year, the INLS Belgium chapter has announced an International Chapters Conference in the last week of June. The newly formed committee is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the success of these events.
