Rukum West will host a grand creation festival, organized by the Raptí Literary Council, in the district headquarters, Khalanga, on Chaitra 22 and 23. The festival will feature a district-wide poetry competition, along with various literary and cultural programs.
The Raptí Literary Council has requested all interested participants to submit their poems by Chaitra 10 for the poetry competition. A notice issued by the council urges those wishing to participate to send their entries within the specified deadline.
President of the Raptí Literary Council, Manlal Oli, stated that the top 25 poems selected by the evaluation committee will compete in the final round. The winning poems will be read aloud during the festival, and prizes will be awarded. The first-place winner will receive NPR 5,000, the second-place winner NPR 3,000, and the third-place winner NPR 2,000.
The cultural committee will oversee the selection and management of cultural performances for the event. The Musikot Municipality and Triveni Rural Municipality have committed to providing initial budget support for the event, while the financial committee will manage the search for additional funds and handle publicity efforts.
The festival will also feature poet and former scholar Tulsi Diwas as the chief guest, along with the participation of well-known poets, creators, and literary enthusiasts. In addition, the Raptí Literary Council has announced plans to celebrate its annual festival within the month of Chaitra.
