The awards for the Yugakavi Siddhicharan Award-2081 have been announced. According to the Yugakavi Siddhicharan Foundation, Prof. Dr. Usha Thakur will be honored with this year’s Yugakavi Siddhicharan Award for her significant contributions in spreading the works and persona of Yugakavi Siddhicharan through extensive national and international study and research. Similarly, the Yugakavi Siddhicharan Youth Journalist Award will be conferred upon journalist Navaraj Karki who is based in Okhaldhunga.
Both recipients will receive their awards during a literary ceremony held on May 22, marking the 113th birth anniversary of poet Siddhicharan Shrestha.
The decision to honor Thakur and Karki was made by a selection committee led by Prof. Dr. Mohan Lohani, with members Prof. Dr. Abhi Subedi and Prof. Dr. Jayaraj Acharya, on April 4.
