Samarpan Neupane
Monsoon the soil muddy
worms do.
worms;
have no eyes
have no ears
they crawl, crawl and crawl
for them
life is a crawl.
for them
right is the crawl.
as crawl their life, worms do
a man pacing with wind
steps , crushes
and kills a worm .
speed is a worm’s enemy.
as crawl their life, worms do
comes a crane flying
picks, kills and gulps
worm yet another !
flight is a worm’s enemy.
worms
they don’t know
their friends
they don’t know
their foes
they crawl and crawl
afraid of speed
afraid of flight.
crawling our paths sluggishly
day in day out
with no speed/ with no flight
have we all become mere worms ?
reluctant of progress !
