We were silent as it happened
We shall also remain uncaringly concerned
They are responsible for themselves
Surely, don’t get fooled by the comments we have for everyone
Some of us are supposed to remain ill-fated and less fortunate
Accidents, incidents, shocks, and surprises do happen
In the Karmic scheme of things, we can’t share their sufferings
Please tell them—those wretched—not for all of us to change
As for our commitment, even as the people of a socialist-oriented nation
We are here to live for our own interests
Cheat, exploit and never regret
“We” have already blamed each other for the crisis we started together
Our education has made us just about clever to find an escape gate
Let the villages burn in emptiness and the towns drown in crowding
Allow us to burn our skin in a hot desert and endure frostbite in the snow
We are proud of idols we never follow
Continue to believe in those ideals that history has long forgotten
Hiding behind their faces of honesty, our heroes are just impostures
We are the people of the land, where everything seems possible.
For things to remain impossible
Indeed, it’s easy to set fire to dried wood
Where the living are sleeping like dead
We have become so many without knowing which one
Are we ancient, recent, revolutionary, reformed, revisionary, or instant?
Oh, such amazing, hopelessly gullible critics!
We don’t know why we believe what we have been told
By whom and on what basis?
For everything, we have been compared with
We have covered their gesture with our stupidity
There is nothing tragic about our collective failures
We know how to reduce them into a mockery
Don’t tell us to observe the sun when we are enjoying shadows
As we have been put on the game of waiting
In a land where nothing ever happens
It’s not so terrible for the people
“WE”: Who knows how to keep ourselves busy with
The same old circus, plots, presenters, and stories
