Village Fragrance

Abhimanyu Majhi

To be a part of this vale profound
In tune with the muteness around
A bent dot on the green expanse
Reaping, singing a village fragrance

People stopping by for gush of air
Stares at me with awe and despair
For loosing touch with natures beauty
Tears the polluted heart for eternity

They look for life`s trifles in my song
Wish I could tell how they were wrong
This fleeting joy like a sedative pill
Sends them to peace and tranquil

Wavy murmur of the breath I sang
Gives deep in their heart a sweet pang
Still tries in vain to read my lips
Whatever garners ravenously reaps

For me it is just one of those days
I have to harvest this stupid maze
