Roshan Sherchan’s book “Galli Sansar” has been chosen for this year’s Uttam Shanti Award. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Dr. Parthiveshwor Timilsina of the Uttam Kunwar Smarak Puraskar Guthi.
Nayan Raj Pandey, the member secretary of the Guthi, stated that the award acknowledges Sherchan’s contributions to various topics such as life, humanity, environmental awareness, profound intellect, artistic craftsmanship, simple language, and analytical thinking as portrayed in his book “Galli Sansar.”
The Uttam Kunwar Smarak Puraskar Guthi has been presenting the Uttam Shanti Award annually for the past forty years to the best non-fiction book published in a given year. The award includes a cash prize of 100,000 rupees.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 7th.
