The poetry collection ‘Andhakarma Jun’ authored by poet Ambika Kharel Upreti has been released during a literary programme organized by Birat Sahitya Sangam in Biratnagar on Saturday.
Sarala Chapagai, the President of Dr. Narendra Chapagai Memorial Foundation, senior literary figures such as Bibash Pokharel, Balram Pokharel, Prof. Dr. Medini Prasad Sharma, Shobha Lama Bal, Rammani Pokharel, organizer Madhu Pokharel, Ram Babu Dahal, Kamalmani Upreti, and other literary figures jointly inaugurated the poetry collection.
Poet and critic Hari Prasad Baral commented on the released work. Baral mentioned that Upreti’s collection has captured the essence of the present era, making it relatable to readers. He highlighted that each poem in the collection, written in a simple language style, encompasses subject matters relevant to every individual’s life.
During the program, Upreti mentioned that her own life and societal issues have been reflected in her poetry.
On the occasion, poets Bharat Guragai Barbaric, Binayak Pandit Singhal, Kabita Keshari, Prince Pramod Dhakal, Bhawani Pokharel, Umanath Ghimire, Rishi Tiwari, Bhupal Adhikari, Rita Pathak, Kumar Shrestha, Sharad Pradhanang, Nanumaya Dahal, among others, recited their poems.
According to Gopal Nirbhik, the Secretary of the organizing committee, the anthology published by Birat Sahitya Sangam includes 37 poems written based on various subjects.
