To Love

Shobha Dhungana

You disappeared without a trace,
My heart, it nearly lost its place.
Then I knew, with heavy cost,
You had won, and I had lost.

Your zeal, alive, a burning fire,
Your journey soars, climbing higher.
Challenges come, but you remain,
Nothing can break your steady gain.

I see myself as small and slight,
I bow before your towering height.
Your light, a star so brightly shown,
May never face the night’s dark tone.

You hit the sixes with delight,
Your joy in cherries, pure and bright.
With tearful eyes, I watch you fly,
And wish for heights that touch the sky.
