The Illusion of the Mirror

Dharanidhar Adhikari

In the shadow of truth, a game of power plays,
Pretending to cry, I act like I’m beating you,
Like the face shown in the mirror,
In the name of change, the same old lies.
The mirror reflects the image of the face,
But the essence of truth never changes,
The mind didn’t change, nor did the mirror,
Even when the head turned, the inner self remained the same.
A cracked mirror, a fractured society,
Distorted images, incomplete thoughts,
When will such a state change,
When will truth and justice manifest in the mirror?
Seeing one’s own reflection,
Blaming others with deceptive tactics,
These are the misleading images of the mirror,
A new mirror is needed to bring the light of truth.
In the shattered mirror, the reflected scenes,
The fragmented image of a broken society,
No matter how much it is soothed,
The pain of the nation remains unchanged in the mirror.
Now we must shatter the illusion of the mirror,
Align the mind and intellect with the truth,
Let’s see our own face in the mirror,
And find the courage to rise against injustice,
Thus, the illusion of the mirror must now break.
