The Fog

Goma Adhikari
===========

It was bent on engulfing
The entire creation
Underneath its murky sheet.

It wanted to extend its engulfment
To whole of the earth, sky and the directions
And make them invisible
But could not even stand
The silent, soft rays of the sun
That played hide-and-seek with it
And stuck it with their gentle blows.

In reaction
I gathered its dark sheet
And started dissolving, gradually
Within the limits of its ephemeral existence.
