Nepal Academy has decided to honor ten literary figures with the Academy Awards 2081 in various categories for their contributions in diverse areas of language and literature.
As per the announcement, this year’s Pragya Bhasha Puraskar will be presented to linguist Chudamani Regmi. Similarly, Dil Sahani will receive the Pragya Samajshastra Puraskar, Dick Bantawa the Pragya Sanskriti Puraskar, Shardarman Nepal the Pragya Balsahitya Puraskar, and Jasaraj Kirati the Pragya Sahitya Puraskar (Poetry).
Likewise, writer Krishna Dharabasi will be honored with the Pragya Sahitya Puraskar (Prose), Dr. Sudha Tripathi with the Pragya Samalochana Puraskar, Gopiraman Upadhyaya with the Pragya Darshan Puraskar, Balram Adhikari with the Pragya Anuvad Puraskar, and Bhavilal Lamichhane (India) with the Pragya Antardeshiya Puraskar.
Each of these annual awards carries a prize of NPR 100,000.
Earlier, the Matribhasha Sahitya Puraskar 2081 had already been awarded to Ganesh Wambule Rai from the Hill and Himalayan region and Kamalsing Rana from the Tarai-Madhesh region.
