Kathmandu—Surabhi Sahitya Pratisthan celebrated its 17th anniversary by recognizing distinguished literary figures at a special event held in Gokarneshwar Municipality.
The ceremony, presided over by the Pratisthan’s president Bajuram Poudel, featured Professor Dr. Abhi Subedi as the chief guest, who presented the awards to the honorees.
This year, the Surabhi–Vijay Chalise Bangmaya Award, carrying a cash prize of NPR 51,000, was conferred upon Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha ‘Sambhav’ for his literary contributions. Senior essayist and literary journalist Rochak Ghimire received the Surabhi–Rama Badri Essay Award with a cash prize of NPR 25,000. Similarly, the Guru Prasad Mainali Surabhi Fiction Award of NPR 25,000 was awarded to storyteller Kishor Pahadi, while storyteller Bhagirathi Shrestha was honored with the Surabhi–Bajuram Fiction Sadhana Award of the same amount.
