Kavidanda Sahitya Samaj has announced the shortlist of five books for the Kavidanda National Fiction Award 2081. According to a press statement issued by the Samaj on Monday, the selection was made by a jury panel after evaluating Nepali fictional works published within the Nepali year 2081. The shortlisted titles include both novels and short story collections.
The selected works are:

Hiuko Geet (novel) by Tirtha Gurung
Earlier, the society had announced a longlist of ten books for the award. The titles were assessed based on literary merit, social relevance, language use, and creative originality.
From the shortlist, one outstanding work will be selected to receive the Kavidanda National Fiction Award 2081, which includes a cash prize of NPR 125,000 (one hundred twenty-five thousand rupees) and a certificate of appreciation.
