The second edition of Rajendra Karki’s debut non-fiction work, “Khairide,” a collection of satirical essays, has been released. The first edition was published in Bhadra 2080, followed by the second edition in Asar 2081.
Published by Fitkauli Online Media, the second edition of “Khairide” includes feedback from notable literary figures such as Prof. Khagendra Luitel, Prakash Sayami, Khemraj Pokhrel, Chatyang Master (Krishna Murari Gautam), Shyam Tamot, Sahitya Post, Chandra Ghimire, Badri Prasad Dahal, Kedar Sharma, Anju Karki, Krishna Prasad Niraula, Gayatri Lamsal, Pramod Amatya, Sarbagya Wagle, Dr. Kusumakar Sharma, Thakur Sharma Bhandari, Anita Koirala, Dr. Ramesh Shubhechhu, Meenu Rajbhandari, and Rohit Saiju.
Karki’s “Khairide” was also shortlisted in the top five for the ‘Sahityapost Uttam Non-fiction Award-2080’. The essays are noted for their subject matter, presentation, and the use of metaphorical satire. Directed at societal and individual tendencies, the essays are marked by humor, thoughtfulness, originality, and philosophical ideas.
