Starting next year, Sahityapost has also announced the establishment of an award for English-language books. Sahityapost English editor Mahesh Paudyal shared that the award, unlike the Nepali categories, will be presented to the best work in English by a Nepali author—whether an original work or a translation—across any genre. The award in the English section was announced by advocate Peshal Kumar Leutal who is also the co-editor of Sahityapost English section.

Additionally, a book titled Utkrista Bachhita, a collection of bachhita (a form of poetry), was launched during the event.

Sahityapost annually honors the best debut works by new writers in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction published in Nepali in a given year, and has now extended this recognition to include the best work in English.

The program was chaired by Chief Editor Aswini Koirala, emceed by Sahityapost’s fiction editor Theint Theint Dhital, and the welcome speech was delivered by Executive Editor Krishna Dhungel.
