Sahitya Sadan Nepal to Hold Poetry Festival on World Poetry Day

Sahitya Sadan Nepal has decided to organize a poetry festival on March 21 to mark World Poetry Day.

The decision was announced by Prof. Dr. Hemanath Paudel, the president of the Sahitya Sadan Nepal. He also informed that the purpose of organizing the festival on World Poetry Day is to honor poets and poetry.

Along with the poetry competition, the festival will also feature poetry recitations by participating poets and guest attendees.

Regarding the poetry competition, Sahitya Sadan Nepal has published a notice inviting interested poets to participate in the competition. According to the notice, The winner and the two consecutive winners of the competition will be cash prized with 30000, 20000 and 10000 rupees respectively.

Established under the chairmanship of the late poet Kedarman Vyathit in 2043, Sahitya Sadan Nepal has been carrying out significant work in the field of language, literature, and culture. After the demise of Vyathit, the leadership was taken over by Ramesh Bikal and Amir Thapa, and currently, the chairperson is Prof. Dr. Hemanath Paudel.

The Sadan has also been honoring prominent literary figures by establishing awards and honors such as the Hridayachandra Smriti Samman, Gopal Prasad Rimal Award, and Vyathit Kabya Award. Established as an academy of the common people, Sahitya Sadan Nepal, in collaboration with the metropolitan municipality, has constructed a well equipped building for its activities.
