Evergreen Nepali singer Yogesh Vaidya has passed away. He breathed his last at 12:30 am on Thursday at Sundhara-based Kathmandu Valley Hospital.
According to his disciple and singer Reeta Maharjan, Vaidya complained of feeling uneasy on Thursday afternoon, and was admitted to the hospital the same evening after his health worsened suddenly. The 77-year-old singer Vaidya had been suffering from diabetes for a long time.
The late singer Yogesh Vaidya has many popular songs to his credit both in Nepali and Newari language. His songs like “Sapna Bhulai Sara Aansu Piyera Jau,” “Mero Aansuma Nahanse,” “Nepal Mero Uphar Bho,” and Newari songs like “Jay Namo Siri Buddha Bhagwan,” “Jimi Yaha Thaun Jithai Wai” are widely popular. According to his family sources his final rites are under preparations at Aryaghat, Pashupati today.
