Ramesh Bikal Literary Foundation has announced its different awards to be given for the year 2081. An award recommendation committee led by Mahendra Chalise, along with two other literary figures, Gopal Ashk and Menaka Pokharel recommended the name of the award recipients to the executive committee for this year’s award.
According to the announcement, the ‘Ramesh Bikal Literary Award-2081‘ will be bestowed upon Bhairav Bahadur Thapa. Thap was chosen for the award for his significant contribution to arts and cultural through dance direction and creating a comprehensive work on dance script and technical aspects titled Nrityakshar Vigyan, developed over 65 years.
Similarly, ‘Ramesh Bikal-Sushila Social Service Award-2081’ will be awarded to the “Monthly 100 Rupees Campaign Nepal.” This campaign has long been active in promoting educational advancement for economically disadvantaged students and ensuring senior citizens are respected and engaged in society.
Likewise, ‘Ramesh Bikal Creative Award’ will go to Yuvraj Mainali. Mainali, a Nepali writer and critic, began his writing journey in 2037 B.S. with short stories, and his publications include works in satire, micro-fiction, and literary criticism.
The ‘Ramesh Bikal Children’s Literature Award’ will be presented to Amar Kumar Pradhan, a renowned literary figure born in Dolakha in 2011 B.S., known for his contributions to short stories and children’s literature.
The ‘Ramesh Bikal-Sushila Women’s Service Honor Award’ will be awarded to Chinimaya Majhi, who has been actively working for the upliftment of the marginalized Majhi community through the Nepal Majhi Upliftment Association.
The ‘Ramesh Bikal Music Art Award’ will be awarded to Ram Krishna Duwaal, who has been leading awareness movements for over five decades through music, advocating for Nepal’s cultural diversity, people’s unity, and their rights.
Additionally, Dilasha Tamang, an eighth-grade student from Vindhyabasini Secondary School in Majhigaun, Mandan, has been selected for the ‘Ramesh Bikal Shelter and Rehabilitation Society (APUS) Scholarship.’
Established in 2063, the awards were established to honor the multidimensional personality of Nepali writer and painter Ramesh Bikal—including his contributions in literature, music, painting, education, and social work. The awards will be presented on the occasion of the 16th Ramesh Bikal Memorial Day on 6th Poush 2081.
