Preview Event Sheds Light on Sunil Jha’s Anticipated Autobiography: Desh Ko Pida, Bidesh Ko Pir

The book preview discussion on Sunil Jha’s upcoming autobiographical book titled ‘Desh Ko Pida, Bidesh Ko Pir’ took place in the capital on March 5 at Apex Business Hotel, Tribhuvan International Airport. The literary gathering attracted a diverse audience, including writers, media professionals, government officials, and artists.

During the event, writer and journalist Krishna Murari shared his insights after reading the manuscript. He highlighted Sadananda Jha ‘Kabi Ji’ as a central figure in the autobiography, despite being visually impaired, demonstrating his leadership within the Jha family. “The book also largely deals with Sunil’s struggle as a student and as immigrant in the US.” Murari added.

Dinesh Paudel, the editor of the upcoming book, emphasized its significance in culturally connecting the Mithila region and addressing pertinent issues related to Madesh-Hill. “The book is a taleof Simara village, a song of Bagmati, and a narrative of Sunil’s struggle.” Paudel said, “The book also shows how intricately Sunil’s life is connected to the epic Ramayan.”

Likewise, Aswini Koirala, the Editor-in-Chief of Sahityapost.com, considered the book to be a modern Ramayana and stressed the importance of making the book accessible to all readers. He recounted the rigorous editing process and expressed the need to ensure the book’s reach to a wider audience. MJ Jha, who played a crucial role in drafting the book, expressed his satisfaction in being part of the writing process.

During the discussion, Munar Yadav, Sunil’s teacher and a character in the book, shared his pride in mentoring Sunil and recounted his childhood anecdotes and academic achievements.

Author Sunil Jha reflected on his attempt to depict the passage of time in the book. He acknowledged the pivotal role of his uncle, Kavi Sadananda Jha, in shaping his life and guiding him towards success. Sunil expressed gratitude for his uncle’s teachings and blessings, which influenced his journey.
