Birtamod, Jhapa – A poetry recital event titled EaK Sajh, Yuwa Majh was organized on Monday by the Jhapali Sahitya Samaj in Birtamod, Jhapa, gathering literary enthusiasts and celebrated poets. The event featured special guests, including poet and critic Mahesh Paudyal, journalist DG Sharma, and lyricist Purusottam Dhungel, along with several other renowned poets from Jhapa.
Hari Baral, President of Jhapali Sahitya Samaj, moderated the event, while the organization’s secretary, Bibek Nishani, highlighted the objective of the event. “Our aim is to share and celebrate the creative writings of poets. We plan to organize this program regularly,” Nishani said.
During the event, lyricist Purusottam Dhungel captivated the audience with his poetry and shared his insights on the art of poetic expression. Similarly, poet and literary journalist DG Sharma encouraged writers to join Sahityapost and recited some of his own poems, inspiring attendees with his words.
Poet and critic Mahesh Paudyal provided a reflective conclusion to the event, emphasizing the importance of thinking beyond conventional boundaries in creative writing. “Poets often idealize the speaker ‘I,’ but a true artist must have the courage to celebrate their own flaws and negativities,” Paudyal remarked. He also urged creative writers to focus on timeless ideas rather than on immediate impulses, offering profound insights for aspiring poets.
The event featured poetry recitations by several esteemed poets, including Kumari Chemjong, Sangita Koirala, Gyanu Budhathoki, Kabita Ghimire, Bibek Nishani, Ganesh Niraula, Prasanta Wagle, Namuna Niraila, Hemanta Bhandari, Pawan Dhungel, Manav Niraula, Bikas Siwa, Geeta Subedi, Milan Sangraula, Vision Guragain, Krishna Kasyav, Prakash Neupane, and Lila.
