Poetry Collection ‘Himal Ta Kalai Vayecha’ by Shyam Rimal Released

Writer and journalist Shyam Rimal’s new poetry collection Himal Ta Kalai Vayecha has been released. The book was launched on the occasion of the 108th birth anniversary of Gopal Prasad Rimal, a pioneer of modern Nepali drama. Alongside poet Rimal, the unveiling was done by writer and journalist Gandhiraj Kafle, travel writer Bishnu Prasad Sharma Parajuli, writer Hari Prasad Rimal, as well as Madan Prasad Rimal and Skanda Rimal.

Speaking at the event, journalist Gandhiraj Kafle praised the collection as readable one, noting its sharp, concise poems that touch upon a wide range of subjects. Travel writer Parajuli highlighted that the book addresses issues such as climate change and its effects on humans and animals, along with political anger and satire.

Publisher Shubham Adhikari stated that the collection covers topics ranging from politics and war to climate change and pollution, and was published with the aim of compiling poems on diverse themes. The book features 29 poems, including Bihe (Marriage), Ma Pani Patrakar Hu (I Am Also a Journalist), Jadoko Barg, and the titular Himal Ta Kalai Vayecha.

Prior to this, Rimal has published five other books: Yauta Kadha Bijhdā (a song collection), Trishuliko Kinarabata, Barpak, Nadi Bagdaina, and Chamerō: Corona Kavita—all poetry collections.
