Poet Tulasi Diwasa, SahityaPost Chief Editor Aswini Koirala and Singer Raj Sigdel Felicitated in Dubai

The serial online literary talk show ‘Sahityabarta: Srashta ra Sirjana’ has honoured senior Nepali poet and cultural Tulasi Diwasa, SahityaPost Editor-in-Chief Aswini Koirala and singer Raj Sigdel in a grand poetic and musical event organised in Dubai to mark the completion of the 50th episode of the talk show on 27 August. Poet Diwasa was decorated with ‘Sahityabarta Special Creation Award’ while Editor Koirala was and singer Sidgel were conferred ‘Sahityabarta Srashta Samman’ in a grand event organised at Wescott Hotel, Bardubai, UAE.  Poet Diwas read some of his poems on the occasion, much to the acclaim of the audience. Editor Koirala appreciated the contribution made by the Gulf-based literary and cultural organisations towards the growth of Nepali literature despite their busy schedules and hard life as foreign employees. Guest ghazal writer Indira Adhikari recited almost a dozen ghazals and enchanted the audience.  RNA (ICC) president Pasang Sherpa was the chief guest of the event chaired by program coordinator, poet and painter Jeevit Khadka Magar. Vice President of International Nepali Society UAE and social activist Soni Bhandari and Raj Yatri Lamsal presented ceremonial shawls and tokens of love to poet Tulsi Diwasa, Editor Ashwini Koirala, singer Raj Sigdel and Ghazalist Indira Adhikari.  Dipraj Neyonghang, the chief manager of the program, shed light on the conceptualisation, preparation and eventual execution of the event. Singer Muna Pakhrin gave a welcome speech, and poet DG Sharma, who is also the Europe coordinator of SahityaPost, conducted the program. In the same ceremony, the language editor of the talk show, poet and journalist Rajendra Tarkini, voice-over artist Muna Pakhrin and illustrator Raj Sitaula were given certificates of appreciation.  Soni Bhandari, Om Kumari Khand, Aditya Raj, Chandra Shramik, Sunil Parajuli, Nimesh Giri and others graced the event by giving live creations, while singer Raj Sigdel entertained the gathering with his soulful songs and ghazal performance. Sagarmatha Sahitya Pratishthan (UAE), Srijana Wachan Dabali (UAE), International Nepali Society (UAE) and Jhapali Society (UAE) were given certificates of appreciation and token of love in appreciation of their contribution towards the development of Nepali literature in the Gulf. Poet and artist Jeevita Khadka Magar, poet and singer Deepraj Neyonghang, ghazal writers Raj Yatri Lamsal and Indira Adhikari and INS vice president Soni Bhandari were awarded SahityaPost life membership certificates by the Editor-in-Chief of SahityaPost, Aswini Koirala. Similarly, President of Jhapali Samaj UAE Amar Rai, ghazal writer and businessman J. Sagar, Secretary General of Tanahun Sewa Samaj UAE Suren Bhujel, member of Pathari Sewa Samaj UAE Vijay Limbu and Raj Yatri Lamsal from Sagarmatha Sahitya Pratishthan UAE delivered good-wish speeches.

Delivering his presidential speech, chair Jeevit Khadka Magar said that he was able to organise the grand and decent programme due to everyone’s support and cooperation. He further said, “Sahityabarta: Shrasta ra Sirjana” shall organise similar events on the completion of every 50 episodes in the future too.
