Poet Jaganath Stood First in INLS Poetry Festival 2023

Jagnath Paudel has stood first in the INLS Poetry Festival 2023 organized by the central committee of International Nepali Literary society (INLS) marking the 104th birth anniversary of Rastrakabi Madav Prasad Ghimire.  INLS, which had received around 300 poems for the poetry festival, declared America-based poet Jagnath Paudel as the winner of the competition.

A panel of judges comprised of litterateurs Biyog Budathoki, Roshan Thapa, Nirav and Susmita Nepal also declared Lalitpur-based Rishdev Ghimire as the first runner up in the competition. Similarly, Ananda Shrestha (America), Madan Ghimire( Kaski)  and Suman Shiris ( Sindupalchwok) were all declared as the second runners up of the poetry competition.

INLS founder chairperson Homnath Subedi had chaired the event as the chief guest and  INLS BOT president Padam Bishwakarma had delivered welcome speech in the event. Likewise, INLS advisor Pratik Dhakal discussed on the literary contribution made by Rastrakabi Madav Ghimire.

The festival was held under the chairmanship of Govardan Pooja, the president of INLS while Rastrakabi Ghimire’s daughters Jyoti Paudel and Shanta Ghimire, INLS vice- president Rajendra Shrestha, Dr. Renuka Solu, secretary Bilama Niraula, INLS member Tara Adhakari chanced to deliver speech during the event. As per the report, a total of 101 poems were recited poets in the event.

The cash prize of the competition was sponsored by Tirtha Pandey, Ishwori Bhatta, Tirtharaj Adhikari, Netrabandhu Pokhrel and Samjhana Aryal.
