Poet Bairagi Kaila to Receive Rs. 600,000 Literary Award

Poet Bairagi Kaila has been declared the recipient of the  ‘Swikarokti Siddhi Puraskar’, which carries a cash prize of 600,000 rupees. The award was announced by the Global Bhutanese Literary Organizations (GBLO), a forum of Bhutanese writers of Nepali origin, during its ongoing three-day international conference.

The announcement of the award was made by Denzom Sampang of the Swikarakti Campaign. The award was first conferred in 2022 to Indian literary figure of Nepali origin, Lil Bahadur Chettri.

The sixth World Conference of GBLO is currently being held in The Hague, Netherlands. The event was inaugurated by Seva Lamsal, Nepal’s Ambassador to the Netherlands.

Representatives from several countries, including Belgium, the UK, Slovenia, France, Norway, Poland, Denmark, New Zealand, the US, and the Netherlands, are participating in the conference.
