Poem: Behind Her Smile

Manisha Sultaniya

Just beneath her smiling face,
She hides her pain,
To be in the race
Of being happy again.

Her laughter rings, so bright, so clear,
Yet holds the weight of silent fears,
A mask she wears, a painted glow,
While storms within still ebb and flow.

The world sees light in eyes so wide,
But never knows the tears she hides.
She walks with grace, she stands so tall,
Yet fights unseen battles through it all.

But hope still lingers, soft and true,
Like morning’s kiss on drops of dew.
One day, the weight will fade away,
And joy will no longer be a play.
