The play “Yugko Saacho” is set to be staged from Asar 27 to Shrawan 19 (July 11 to August 3) at Shilpee Theatre, Battisputali.
Revised and directed by Tanka Chaulagain, the play is a translation of the English novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. Director Chaulagain stated that the play focuses on the necessity of reopening closed industries at a time when the number of young people going abroad is increasing. He said, “Youths are going abroad for employment. Many of the industries and factories in Nepal are closed. If these industries were to reopen, they might return to their own country. Through this play, we aim to show how important it is to reopen closed industries in the current situation.”
The play features artists such as Akanksha Karki, Sevita Adhikari, Sheila Neupane, Rara Jyoti Pokharel, Usha Bhatt, Prateek Dulal, Pushpa Raj Awasthi, Bijay Nepal, Sreedhar Gautam, Anu Lakandri, Abhinit Chaulagain, Anshika Joshi, and Kasyap Gyawali.
The play will be performed every day of the week at 5:30 PM, except on Tuesdays. Additionally, there will be a special show on Saturdays at 1:00 PM.
The play is presented by Michael Chekhov Nepal and School Theatre Nepal.
