Parakram Bal Pratibha Award to Minu Maya Praja

This year’s ‘Parakram Bal Pratibha Award’ will be conferred upon student Minu Maya Praja.

The award was established by literary figures Mahesh Paudyal and Rama Adhikari in memory of their beloved late son Prakram Paudyal.

Minu Maya Praja, the recipient of  ‘Prakram Bal Pratibha Award 2080’,  is currently a grade 10 student at Shri Saraswati Secondary School located at Chauri Deurali Rural Municipality, Chheda, Kavre. She has been residing in the Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel operated by Laxmi Pratisthan.

The decision to award Minu Maya Praja was made during a meeting held on Saturday, which was chaired by litterateur Pratik Dhakal, the President of the Parbatiya Sahitya Samaj Nepal. Praja was selected not only for excelling academically under adverse economic and familial circumstances but also for her aptitude in music. The decision was conveyed by the committee’s member-secretary Bhawani Khatiwada.

Praja will receive a cash prize of 15,000 rupees along with a certificate of honor.

Previously, the award was presented to differently-abled poet Darshan KC, Tara Tamang who despite unfavorable economic conditions, showcased exceptional oratorical skills throughout the district, and to Prem Chepang, belonging to underprivileged community, yet recognized for his singing talent. Similarly , the award was also presented to students Alisha Phuyal and Yogesh Rai from the Aadarsha Secondary School, Madhyapur Thimi, for their excellence in music and studies despite their visual impediment.
