In halls of power, where shadows cast,
Leaders gather, ambitions vast.
They vie for chairs, for crowns of might,
Yet for the people’s cause, they seldom fight.
With every promise made, a hope is born,
Only to fade by break of morn.
For their battles wage on fields of self,
While the people’s dreams collect dust on the shelf.
A nation’s heart, so rich and wide,
Seeks champions true, not those who hide
Behind grand words and gestures hollow,
Leaving common hopes and dreams to wallow.
The soil cries out for care and toil,
Not for quarrels over power’s spoil.
Yet in the quest for personal gain,
The cries for help are met with disdain.
Where are the leaders of humble stock,
Who for their country would truly walk?
Not in halls where shadows play,
But in the light of the common day.
For a leader true fights not for a chair,
But stands beside those in despair.
Their battle is for progress, for rights to mend,
For a nation’s development, they will defend.
Yet until such leaders take the stage,
The people must bear the current age.
And hope that soon will come the day,
When true champions their trust will repay.
