On the occasion of the Nepali New Year 2081, Nilkantha Academy, Dhading has announced the ‘Bagmati Province Open Poetry Competition’ through a press release issued on Apirl 5.
Interested poets from Bagmati Province are invited to submit their original Nepali poems, composed in not more than 180 words, by Baisakh 21, 2081. The submitted poems should reflect themes such as nation and nationality, natural diversity, and social harmony, according to the announcement.
The Academy will shortlist the top 5 poems for the final round, where the selected poets will be invited to recite their works in a special program.
Participants are requested to include a recent passport-sized photograph along with their poem, as well as provide details including their name, address, contact number, and a copy of citizenship. Submissions can be sent via email to neelakanthaacademy@gmail.com or ppaudel@196gmail.com.
The notice further mentions that cash prizes of 20,000, 15,000, and 10,000 rupees will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners, respectively, along with a citation for each. Additionally, two consolation prize winners will receive 5,000 rupees each.
