Nepali Pratibha Pratisthan, UK has honoured senior musician and writer Ganesh Rasik with the ‘Pratibha Samman 2023’ and journalist Pradeep Meyangbo with the ‘Pratibha Puraskar 2023’ for their significant contribution to the field of art and literature.
Senior poet and former chancellor of Nepal Academy Bairagi Kaila and former chairperson of the Pratisthan Ganesh Rai handed over the honours and certificates to them for the year 2023 amid a function organised by the Pratisthan in the capital.
Rasik has sung several songs and written many literary books while Meyangbo has created stories on Mundhum, the Kiratian myth. The felicitation carries a purse of Rs. 50,000 while the award carries Rs. 100,000.
Journalist Devendra Bhattarai highlighted the contribution of Rasik and Sita Mademba spoke about Meyangbo.
Poet Kaila stressed the need for researching more on Mundhum.
“The new generation has made a wonderful contribution to this field and the award has added more responsibilities to them,” he said.
Song writer Shyam Tamot expressed best wishes to the honoured while former chairperson of the Pratisthan Rai and author Shashi Lumumbu highlighted the activities of the Pratisthan.
Before this, the UK-based academy, established in 2008, had honoured Ishwar Manandhar, Ambar Gurung, GB Lugun, Bhaktaraj Acharya, Govindraj Bhattarai, Boond Rana, Tekbir Mukhiya, Pradhyumna Shrestha, Bhagirathi Shrestha, Benu Acharya, Dawa Gyalmo, Gopal Parajuli, Rajendra Bimal, Krishnahari Baral and Deep Shrestha with the Talent Felicitation. Similarly, Nabin Bibhash, Kuber Rai, Upendra Subba, Shrawan Mukarung, Momila Joshi, Rajkumar Dikpal, Bhupal Rai, BB Anuragi, Tika Chamling, Phulman Bal, Balaram Adhikari, Subha Mukarung, Bimala Tumkhewa, Ganesh Gurung and Sudeep Pakhrin were honoured with the Talent Award.
