Nepal Muktak Foundation Announces Literary Awards to Sarubhakta and Dhakal

Nepal Muktak Pratisthan has announced to confer this year’s ‘Bhim Darshan Muktak Award’ to writer Sarubhakta and ‘Krishna-Ratna-Chetan Muktak Award’ upon Anuradha Dhakal’s Muktak collection ‘Aarabdh.’

The foundation decided to honour  renowned literary figure Sarubhakta with ‘Bhim Darshan Muktak Award’ recognizing his outstanding contribution to MuktaK literature over the past five decades. The cash prize for this award is NPR 51,000 rupees.

Similarly, Anuradha Dhakal’s ‘Arabdha’ has been chosen for the ‘Krishna- Ratna-Chetan Muktak Award’ from among the Muktak works published in 2079. The cash prize for this award is 31,000 rupees.

Both the awards are established in honor of the pioneers of Nepali modern Muktak literature, Bhim Darshan Roka and the senior literary figures Krishna Prasad Parajuli, Ratna Shumsher Thapa, and Chetan Karki.

On the award distribution day, the Foundation has also announced the release of renowned writer Ratna Shumsher Thapa’s debut Muktak collection ‘Sheetko Runjhun’. The award ceremony and book unveiling will take place in Kathmandu on the occasion of Muktak Diwas on 18th of Magh.
