Nepal Academy Presents Pragya Sahityik Patrakarita Puraskar 2081 

Nepal Academy has conferred the Pragya Nepali Bhasa Sahitik Patrakarita puraskar 2081 to Mohan Duwaal, Editor-in-Chief of Janamat monthly, and the Pragya Nepali Matribhasa  Sahitik Patrakarita puraskar to Veer Bahadur Chand, editor of the Dotyali-language magazine Guguldi. Each award carries a cash prize of NPR 50,000 and a copperplate citation.

The award ceremony was chaired by Academy Chancellor Bhupal Rai, who emphasized the need for multilingual literary journalism in a democratic and inclusive society. He noted that literary journalism plays a vital role in shaping cultural and academic discourse.

Speaking at the event, Mohan Duwaal said the award strengthened his commitment to the field, while Veer Bahadur Chand reaffirmed his dedication to promoting the Dotyali language. Other speakers, including writer-journalist Purushottam Dahal and Member Secretary Dr. Dhan Prasad Subedi, highlighted the importance of preserving Nepal’s linguistic diversity through literary journalism.
