Nepal Academy has established ‘Pragya Bal Sahitya Puraskar ‘, a literary award conferred upon children’s literature. The award carries a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees. The award was announced during the closing ceremony of Nepal’s first ‘Children’s Book Exhibition and School-Level Story Writing Competition’ jointly organized by the Academy and Nepal Children Literature Society. The award, presented by the government, is the first of its kind for children’s literature.
