Nepal Academy has decided to celebrate the ‘Poetry Festival 2081’ marking its 67th anniversary. For this occasion, the Academy has requested poets across the country to submit their original and unpublished poetry. The announcement states that poems written in Nepali or in languages other than Nepali (mother tongue) are eligible to participate. While the announcement reads that poems originally composed in a mother tongue language must be submitted along with their Nepali translation. The deadline for poetry submissions is June 3, 2024.
Participants are requested to include a recent passport-sized photograph and the poet’s contact number along with the poem. Submissions can be made via email to kavitamohotsav2081@gmail.com.
The Academy will select the top 10 poets from among the submitted poems. Each selected poet will be awarded a cash prize of 30,000 rupees along with a citation on the 67th anniversary of Nepal Academy.
