Natrayan Gopal Music Trust has decided to confer this year’s Narayan Gopal Memorial Award on singer Tara Devi and litterateur Ganesh Rasik.
The meeting held under the Trust’s chairman Usha Sherchan took the decision of conferring the award to late singer Tara Devi, who is also known as the nightingale of Nepal, for her five-decade- long contribution in Nepali music. Similarly, litterateur Ganesh Rasik was chosen for the award for his six-decade-long devotion in Nepali music and literature.
Secretary of the Trust Dipak KC said that the awards will be conferred on 19th of Mangshir occasioning the Memorial Day of late singer Narayan Gopal.
The Trust was established in 2047 and has felicitated around 40 artists so far.
