Nai Publication has announced the recipients of various awards for the year 2080, honoring four writers from India.
The decision was made during a special meeting chaired by publication’s Chancellor Mrs. Indira Prasai.
The prestigious Nai Derunikh International Award, carrying a cash prize of NPR 200,000, will be conferred upon Mr. KB Nepali from Assam, India. This recognition celebrates his six-decade-long dedication to enriching Nepali literature through creative writing and editing the quarterly magazine Bindu, as well as his significant contribution to the global expansion of Nepali language and literature. This award is exclusively presented to foreign nationals of Nepali-Gorkhali origin.
Similarly, renowned music composer Ranjit Gazmer, based in Mumbai, is to be honoured with Nai Koilidevi Award. This award acknowledges his tireless efforts in creating high-quality music for Nepali songs, making the Nepali language widely popular across borders.
Similarly, the Nai Ishwar Baral Award will be awarded to Dr. Jeevan Namdung from Darjeeling for his exceptional work and dedication to Nepali literary criticism and research.
Additionally, Dr. Shanti Kshetri, a prominent literary figure from Sikkim known for her contributions to poetry, essays, stories, and literary criticism, will be honored with the Nai Ganesh-Durga International Award.
Each of these three awards carries a cash prize of NPR 100,000.
