Moscow Honors Poet Santosh Kumar Pokharel

Moscow:- International Nepali poet Santosh Kumar Pokharel has been awarded a prestigious honor by the International Union of Writers, USSR, during a special ceremony held in Moscow. The event marked the 90th anniversary of the organization’s founding. Pokharel received the 90th Anniversary Medal from the union’s president, Konoplyannikov Yuri Victorovich, in recognition of his significant contributions to global literature, including Russian literature.

During the ceremony, Poet Pokharel also presented an impromptu poem in Russian titled “The Beauty of Russia”. The event, which took place at the Central House of Writers in Moscow, was attended by representatives from several republics of the Russian Federation, as well as delegates from Nepal and Lebanon. The International Union of Writers was originally founded by Maxim Gorky in 1934.
