The poetry collection ‘Jigu Dharti: Jigu Sarga’ (My Earth, My Sky) by poet Mangalman Shakya was released amid a literary programme held in Lalitpur on Saturday.
The book was jointly unveiled by the Chancellor of the Nepalbhasa Academy, Yagya Ratna Dhakhwa, and other literary figures.
During the event, critic Purna Tamrakar reviewed the the collection and commended Shakya’s active role in the promoting Nepalbhasa.
The event, organised in two phases, featured discussions by Chair Bajraj Shakya and Dr. Sundar Krishna Joshi, who delved into the author’s biography and the themes of the poems from the collection.
The programme also included cultural performances. Singer Rita Maharjan captivated the audience with a song while poets Anjana Tamrakar, Dibya Tamrakar, Sulochana Sainju and poet Bhagatdas Shrestha recited poems from the collection.
Chief guest Dhakhwa praised the collection, noting that strong imagination and creativity elevated the quality of poetry.
