With an aim to raise funds for Birjung Agricultural Tools Factory, videos have gone viral on social media where Dr. Mahavir Pun could be seen selling his autobiographical book ‘Mahavir Pun’. Reaching door to door, so far Dr. Mahavir Pun has collected 25.5 million rupees by selling his autobiography , with each book priced at 750 rupees.
Up to the last Saturday, Dr. Pun sold 34 thousand copies at 750 rupees each, resulting in the total collection of 25.5 million rupees.
Dr. Pun, who recently traveled from Kathmandu to Mid-Hill highway, plans to continue selling books in Western Nepal, aiming to collect 150 million rupees by selling around three hundred thousand books.
Upon returning to Baitadi, Dr. Pun expressed enthusiasm about his earnings and revealed his plans to travel from Western to Eastern Nepal in the next two months to sell books. Dr. Pun also mentioned about the financial challenges of selling books through bookstores and the delays in receiving payments and significant commissions pose hurdles.
In the autobiography published in October, Dr. Pun has shared his struggles, successes, and life story.
The proceeds from book sales will support the operation of Birjung-based agricultural tools factory.
