Lumbini Province Fine Art Exhibition-2081 Set to be Held in Butwal

The Nepal Academy of Fine Arts is set to organize the Lumbini Province Fine Art Exhibition-2081 in Butwal to preserve indigenous art and highlight its cultural significance.

The exhibition, scheduled from February 26 to 30, is being held in collaboration with the Nepal Professional Artists Association, Butwal. It will feature 180 artworks by 123 artists, including paintings, sculptures, handicrafts, folk art, architecture, cartoons, and photography.

According to Dineshwor Mahato, Head of the Sculpture Department at the Academy and Coordinator of the Lumbini Province Coordination Committee, the exhibition will showcase:

  • 74 paintings by 63 artists
  • 14 sculptures by 13 artists
  • 21 folk artworks by 20 artists
  • 52 handicrafts by 14 artists
  • 15 photographs by 10 artists
  • One artwork each in videography and cartoons

Only selected competitive artworks from the provincial exhibition will qualify for the National Fine Art Exhibition, where the most outstanding piece will receive the National Fine Art Excellence Award.

The National Fine Art Excellence Award, worth Rs. 100,000, will be presented to a single outstanding artist across all categories. Additionally, the best artwork from each province will be awarded the Provincial Excellence Award worth Rs. 50,000, while the best artwork in each category will receive Rs. 30,000.
