Writer Laxmilochana Vaidya has released her latest novel Ritu in a grand ceremony. Author Vaidya has been actively contributing to the fields of criticism, fiction, and drama. The book was launched during an event, jointly organized by Srijana Abhiyan Samaj and Books Himalaya, in Bhaktapur. The book was jointly unveiled by critics Khagendra Prasad Luintel, story writer Dhanman Shrestha, and artist Ram K.C.
Speaking at the event, critic Luintel expressed his happiness at seeing his daughter emerge as a novelist. Recalling his close observation of Laxmilochana’s literary journey since her university days, he wished for her growing recognition in the literary world.
Writer Dhruva Madhikarmi highlighted Ritu as a novel that presents the struggles and courage of a woman with deep human sensitivity. Artist Ram K.C. praised the book’s attempt to portray various aspects of society through the character of Ritu.
Author Vaidya shared insights into her novel, stating that it revolves around the life of a courageous woman and the challenges she encounters.
The event also featured speeches by storyteller Dhanman Shrestha, Sumitra Talchabhadel, and Tika Shrestha. Additionally, a summary of the novel was read out, followed by an engaging discussion among attending writers and literature enthusiasts.
