Writer and journalist Laxman Biyogi’s debut story collection Satyam is set to be released soon. Biyogi, who also serves as the editor of the online portal Urja Khabar, brings his first literary work to the public through Page Turner Publications.
According to the publisher, Satyam explores various facets of Nepali society, particularly those shaped by the Maoist conflict, while drawing from the linguistic beauty and cultural nuances of the Gandaki watershed region and Syangja district in western Nepal.
The stories is rooted in realism which highlight social discrimination, inequality, and the tragedies of the people’s war.
The book is scheduled to be formally launched on Saturday, Jestha 24 (June 8), at a special ceremony at the Nepal Academy, as announced by Page Turner’s Executive Director Jayaram Timilsina.
With nearly two decades of experience in journalism, Biyogi previously worked in the economic bureau of Nagarik Daily for five years. He currently leads Urja Khabar, Nepal’s first online magazine focused on the energy sector.
Biyogi is passionate about literature. He primarily writes short stories and essays. His essay Koronako Karkha won first place in the “Kabidanda National Essay Competition 2078,” and his story Taauko secured second place in the first edition of ‘Dishome Baahrakhari Story Writing Competition.’
