Kumar Nagarkoti’s Jogiyana, a collection of memoirs, has been released in a literary event held at Patan Durbar, Lalitpur on Tuesday.
Journalists Yangesh, Deepak Sapkota, Basanta Basnet and Nagarkoti himself made the book public amid the presence of a huge number of literary figures.
Bhupendra Khadka, proprietor BookHill publication, stated that the book was released celebrating the 25 years of Nagarkoti’s writing journey as ‘Jogiyana Festival’. Durning the programme, Nagarkoti recited some poems and songs for the participants.
Journalists Sapkota and Yangesh recited some excerpts from the book while Basnet commented on the aesthetics of Nagarkoti’s writing.
“I had read Nagarkoti as a poet in the initial phase, but he has written in several genres and is very skillful,” Basnet asserted, “Lalitpur where Nagarkoti lives should be known as Nagarkotian city.” On the occasion, Nagarkoti honoured two master designers of the book Sachin Yagol Shrestha and Umesh Kafle. Published by Bookhill Publications Kathmandu, the book consists of 19 memoirs.
