Kirat Khaling Rai Utthan Sangh is set to organize the Khaling Language Open Poetry Competition–2082 on the occasion of its 24th anniversary. The competition invites all poets who write in the Khaling language to take part in the event. According to the organizers, Poets who secured first, second, or third positions in the previous year will not be eligible to compete in the competition. Submissions must be typed using the officially accepted Khaling script, accompanied by a mandatory Nepali translation. Additionally, previously published or recited poems will not be accepted. The poems should be submitted by Bhadra 10, 2082 (August 26, 2025) via email at kiratkhalingrai2058@gmail.com or through WhatsApp at 9763437140.
From the entries, the top 10 poems will be selected and will be asked to recite on Asoj 10, 2082 (September 26, 2025), during the anniversary celebration. Poets who cannot be physically present at the venue—especially those living abroad—are asked send a video recording of their poem recitation by Asoj 5 (September 21).
The selected top 10 poems will also be published in the association’s official magazine, Sunmyasang. Winners will be awarded cash prizes and certificates: the first-place poet will receive NPR 20,000, the second-place winner NPR 15,000, and the third-place winner NPR 10,000. Additional poets will be given encouragement prizes of NPR 5,000 each.
