Kamal Rijal’s Fifth Novel ‘Shakuntala’ Launched

Journalist Kamal Rijal’s fifth novel Shakuntala has been officially released. According to the author, the novel is based on a mythological narrative that offers a completely different perspective from traditional mythological beliefs.

The novel presents a critical analysis of how and when the patriarchal system replaced the matriarchal structure that existed in Hindu society since ancient times. According to Rijal, the novel aims to inspire readers to eliminate the long-standing social evils and discord that have persisted under various pretexts for centuries, and instead guide them toward building a happy and prosperous society.

Pushparaj Paudel, Managing Director of the publishing house Shikha Books, expressed his belief that the novel will help challenge and dismantle the superstitions, malpractices, and harmful traditions embedded within Hindu rituals and culture.
