Novelist Kalpana Kharel’s novel Bhrikutitara has been launched during a program held in Anamnagar. The book was unveiled by veteran actor Madan Das Shrestha and other guest attendees.
Actor Shrestha recalled watching a play titled ‘Bhrikutitara’ many years ago and praised the author for the challenging task of bringing Bhrikuti to life in novel form.
In a critical review, Prof. Dr. Govindaman Singh Karki described the work as a historical novel, while former INLS President Geeta Khatri shared her personal experiences from her time spent in the Tibet region.
Author Kharel spoke about the research and effort she put into writing the novel, while organizer and President of the Literary Journalists’ Association, Radhe Shyam Lekali, expressed confidence that the historical novel would captivate readers.
The event also saw literary figures such as Pramod Pradhan, Laxman Gamnage, Sandhya Pahadi, Dr. Sadananda Kadel, Dr. Damodar Pudasaini Kishore, and Shankar Bharti discussing the book.
The novel was published by Manjari Publications. Kharel has previously published several novels, stories, and song collections.
