Journalist and author Basanta Basnet’s novel Simsara has been launched. The novel was unveiled at an event held at Nepal Academy by Basnet along with film director Min Bahadur Bham, poet Asmita Gautam, musician Ujwal Sagar, and others.
Director Bham praised Basnet’s writing, recalling the literary figure Parijat. He said, “I have always been in love with Parijat’s work. I was in love with the characters in her novels and stories. Now, I have fallen in love with the characters in Basanta’s novel Simsara.” He also said that reading Simsara reminded of his childhood experiences.
At the event, Basnet shared that he had delved deep into the characters while writing the novel, presenting stories from his childhood experiences and some real-life incidents.

Previously, Basnet had written Mahabhara, and Simsara is his second novel and third book overall. His first book was 72 Ko Bismaya.
