Kathmandu, March 27
The renowned director of the Michael Chekhov International Academy, Joerg Andrees, has brought the revolutionary Chekhov Technique—an innovative approach in theatre—to Nepal. Andrees and his team are all set to explore the Chekhov Acting Technique through an engaging workshop scheduled from March 30 to April 9 in the capital.
For the past two years, Andrees has been leading transformative classes on the Chekhov Technique at his academy in Berlin, sharing his experiences, knowledge, and developments gained over 30 years of work with the Michael Chekhov Technique.
Despite Nepal’s rich theatrical heritage, actors have long lacked a structured approach to their craft. Now, with this popular teaching approach, Andrees and his team aim to revolutionize Nepal’s theater scene, providing actors with access to world-class training right in their own backyard.
This innovative approach, championed by Michael Chekhov himself and endorsed by legendary figures like Stanislavski, promises to elevate Nepali theater to new heights.
Designed specifically for theatre actors and trainers, the workshop will be attended by around 20 theatre artists representing various theaters across the country.
With special assistance of Russian House, Kamalpokhari, the workshop is in collaboration with Pragya Kunja School, Valley View School and Narrow TV Nepal
